We have come up with some gorgeous designs for Mother’s Day.  Take a look below at some of the colors and flowers we are working with this season.  This is absolutely the most beautiful time of the year.

Remember, if your Mom is out of our local delivery area, we can still ship flowers almost anyplace across the country by FedEx.  Visit  http://www.marksflowers.com to see what’s available there.

Mark, Richard and one of our designers, Frankie, traveled to Nebraska to visit the impressive Lauritzen Gardens, a surprising, botanical oasis in the heart of Omaha.  Mark addressed nearly 300 attendees at a luncheon in his honor and discussed the art of entertaining while demonstrating floral design techniques.  The floral arrangements were auctioned following the talk and Mark and Richard signed copies of Fabulous Parties, raising several thousand dollars for the group.  Our hosts were charming and generous and treated us like visiting royalty.

Spring is here.

Visiting New York as the seasons change is always inspiring to us.  In addition to the fabulous selection of theatre and performances like no place else in the world, the city itself is a stage.  We find new ideas everywhere, from set design and lighting, retail window displays and public gathering areas such as the Metropolitan Museum, restaurants and stores.  The streets themselves, especially in spring, are unique landscapes with the widest range of people and styles seen anywhere.  This time of year the trees are ablaze with blossoms and the tulips fill the gardens along Park Avenue and in squares, like the east side of The Plaza Hotel, are a show unto themselves.  It is an experience not to be missed.

We spent one afternoon visiting our friend Mario Bosquez who hosts “Living Today” on Martha Stewart Living Radio.  We talked on air about summer entertaining and new trends in floral design.  Mario is a charming host who asks pertinent questions and has great ideas of his own and an obvious flair for entertaining.
